
BYD market outlook and new products
News from BYD! Sales figures and market share should continue to grow. The world leader in rechargeable batteries recently invited their partners to the Partner Event in Stuttgart and presented market prospects and shared their Product Roadmap.
The numbers speak for BYD
BYD tops the electric vehicle maker’s list with over 113 000 electric cars sold in 2017 and total of over 14 000 electric busses worldwide. BYD battery production capacity is set to rise from 16 GWh in 2017 to 29 GWh in 2018. The market share is expected to grow from 4% in 2017 to 15% in 2018.
Battery Box HV
The BYD high-voltage battery box is flexible and can be extended between 5 and 9 battery modules with a capacity of 1.28 kWh each. The expansion is utilized though a patented wireless plug-in system which makes the system extremely easy to install. The HV batteries are compatible with SMA Sunny Boy Storage 2.5 (AC) and with the upcoming higher output power of the new SMA Sunny Boy Storage; the Battery Box HV becomes even more powerful.
Battery Box LV
Current version of the Battery Box low voltage product come as a 2.56kWh module that can be stacked in racks up to 4x batteries creating a 10.24kWh storage unit or it can be wall mounted with up to two batteries side by side. BYD will soon launch the further developed modular low-voltage storage on the market, similar to the existing High Voltage version.
