It is official. DHL and DB Schenker are the Logistics Partners of ZEROhomebills.com
We are happy to announce that from 1st of June, 2017 Deutsche Post DHL and DB Schenker are the two official Logistics Partners of ZEROhomebills.com supporting our growth strategy globally. While with DHL we will serve small parcel customers on a global scale, DB Schenker is focusing on our oversized and pallet packed goods to overseas destination.
” … We are thrilled to be working with both DHL and DB Schenker, both extremely helpful and supportive since January 2017. This ultimately lead to a global partnership after six months. I do believe that this will strengthen our global reach and ensure us we can meet the continually evolving and highly demanding needs of our costumers. Winners work with winners; both are German companies; which fits perfectly our plan to switch to a German operation before Brexit happens.” said Adi A. Krakoczki, Co-Founder of 0Bills.com and Executive Director responsible for Global SCM and Operations at Solaranna.
DHL Express is a division of the German logistics company Deutsche Post DHL providing international courier, parcel and express mail services. Deutsche Post DHL is the world’s largest logistics company operating around the world, particularly in sea and air mail.
Founded in the United States in 1969 to deliver documents between San Francisco and Honolulu; the company expanded its service throughout the world by the late 1970s. The company was primarily interested in offshore and inter-continental deliveries, but the success of FedEx prompted their own intra-US expansion starting in 1983. In 1998, Deutsche Post began to acquire shares in DHL. It reached majority ownership in 2001, and 100% ownership by December 2002. The company then absorbed DHL into its Express division, while expanding the use of the DHL brand to other Deutsche Post divisions, business units and subsidiaries. Today, DHL Express shares its DHL brand with business units such as DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Supply Chain.
The DHL Express financial results are published in the Deutsche Post AG annual report. In 2016, this division’s revenue increased by 2.7 per cent to €14 billion. The earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased by 11.3% over 2015 to €1.5 billion.
DB Schenker is a division of Deutsche Bahn AG that focuses on logistics. The company, created by reorganisation and rebranding of Deutsche Bahn subsidiaries, comprises a logistics division encompassing air, land, and sea freight, and a rail division made up from European rail freight companies. Since December 2007 DB Schenker has been the freight logistics subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn. DB Schenker combines all transport and logistic activities of Deutsche Bahn (DB Schenker rail and DB Schenker logistics) employing over 94,600 staff spread across about 2,000 locations in about 140 countries and now is the biggest freight operator in the UK after buying out English Welsh & Scottish (EWS).
From 1 January 2009 the logistics operations of DB-Schenker, Railion, EWS, and Transfesa were combined under the brand “DB Schenker”. On 2 March 2016, the UK operation was rebranded as DB Cargo UK . Schenker AG and its many subsidiaries handle worldwide logistics operations including Land Transport, Air and Ocean Freight as well as Contract Logistics/SCM, and is part of the DB Schenker organisation. The European rail branch of the company is split into five units:
- Region West: France, Spain and the United Kingdom
- Region Germany/Central: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland
- Region East: Bulgaria, Poland, Romania and Russia
- Intermodal (responsible for pan-European business)
- Automotive (responsible for pan-European business)
DB Schenker has also agreed a joint venture with Etihad Rail, to operate trains in the UAE.
