Major Victory Against Illegal Panel Importers
In a major victory against the illegal importation of solar modules the EU yesterday announced that Shinetime China have been removed from the EU/China MIP agreement due to confirmed breaches of the agreement.
The EU notice instructs national tax authorities to collect the duty on the modules that have been found to be illegally imported.
ZEROhomebills.com Standing
We at 0Bills understands that a number of other manufacturers and importers of Chinese modules are being investigated by the EU authorities and additional announcements are expected over the coming weeks and months.
0Bills strongly recommends all UK/EU distributors and installers to take extra care when purchasing any modules below the current MIP, currently about £0.47/Wp, to ensure they have not been illegally imported as this notice is likely to be just one of many exposing all purchasers of these modules to significant risk.
Please see our earlier news article on the illegal importation of solar modules which explains the risks and our subsequent article that gives details on the steps ZEROhomebills.com and its Partners have taken to ensure the Canadian Solar modules supplied by ZEROhomebills are fully compliant. We urge all distributors and installers to obtain written confirmation from their supplier that they have similar documentation to ensure the modules have not been imported into the EU in contravention of the agreement and therefore at serious risk of additional duty becoming due.
