How MY-PV AC-ELWA Solar PV Water Heater works? The AC ELWA exclusively uses excess-energy from your PV-system and can be installed in hot-water boilers or storage tanks. The excess-power is determined with a digital electricity-meter which sends the control variable to the AC ELWA(s).
The MY-PV AC-ELWA Solar PV Water Heater controls its power linear, so that as little enery as possible is fed into the grid and that your self-consumption is increased significantly. Grid-connected PV-systems reach only 30% self-consumption on average. For a typical household with a 3 kWp PV-system the self-consumption can be raised up to 89%.
This solution replaces devices with thyristors, which are not allowed in accordance with the requirements of the grid operators in Austria and Germany for power ratings above 200VA. Stratification charge or synchronic charge possible for 6 AC ELWAs. The desired water-temperature can be adjusted with a knob.

AC ELWA control with the PLA 3-phase-meter
The PLA 3-phase electricity-meter measures the energy flow of the house and determines the energy-excess. If excess is present, it activates the AC ELWA and transmits the value of the available power.
The AC ELWA transformers this excess PV-energy to heat.
- A PLA can control up to 6 AC ELWAs for stratification charge or synchronic charge simultaneously.
- PLUG and PLAY: no adjustment or programming required when the AC ELWA is connected to the PLA
- Communication cable can be installed in normal AC cable channel

AC ELWA control with 0-10V via Universal Interface
The AC ELWA can be controlled via the Universal Interface with 0-10V signals by third-party providers.
- Several AC ELWAs can be controlled simultaneously
Note: A Connection to the PLA is not possible.

The AC ELWA can be controlled and requested via the Universal Interface with RS485 control commands.
