Description
The Sunware TX-22039 76W 12V Solar Panel is a foldable module based on crystalline high-performance solar cells with an efficiency of up to 18,5%. Sunware TX-22039 76W 12V Solar Panel is a 2-leaf solar module with textile surround. Thanks to the textile joint it can simply be folded to small transport dimensions of 413 x 873 x 25mm. Each wing of this module works independently!
This particular electrical interconnection set up by SunWare causes when an element is shaded, the other wing produce full power further on.
For example, just hang over the railing a two-wing module when the spray hood has been folded up. Almost no matter how the boat is orientated to the sun, the sunny side of the TX-22039 always produces full charging current.

You own a boat? If you think you have no space on board for solar panels then take a look at SunWare‘s innovative new way to snap-on panels. SunWare’s new textile framed TX-series solar modules will do the job. German made the Sunware textile solar module is one of the best options for your boat.
A very useful feature is that each panel works independently of the other and thus should one be shaded the other continues to operate. SunWare solar panels are made in Germany and the new TX textile range is offered in multiple “leaves” of 50W up to 200W. You can find out more at www.sunware.de or from their UK distributor like 0Bills.
Based on the earlier calculation, a 100 watt panel will produce an average of about 30 amp-hours per day (based on an average sunny day). This means you would need three 100 watt solar panels or one 300 watt panel to fully recharge your battery on the average day.
If the boat has “normal” monocrystalline solar panels, i.e. not the high efficiency ones with SunPower® cells, they will produce around 1/4 of the rated watts output in amp/hours per day; so with these types of panels the boat will need at least 100 watts (25 amp/hours x 4 = 100) of solar just to keep the fridge and your battery charged. Sunware panels are perfect for base power generation on a sailboat.
This will depend on your panel wattage, your battery watt-hour (Wh) capacity (a measurement of storage capacity) and the weather. A 150 Wh battery will charge faster than a 500 Wh battery because the 500 Wh battery has more storage capacity, therefore requiring more time to fully charge. In addition, a 100-watt panel will charge a battery faster than a 50-watt panel exposed to the same amount of sunlight.
Charging time will be affected by weather, shade, time-of-day, age and use of battery, efficiency of the charge controller, placement of the solar panels, and other operational factors. Be sure to look on your solar-compatible battery for an estimate of charging times as well as panel-wattage compatibility, and always check the charging characteristics of the battery to ensure it’s compatible with the wattage of the panel.
For higher battery capacity (greater than 150 Wh) we recommend using a 100-watt panel. Before doing this, however, please ensure that the battery you are charging is compatible with this wattage and use a compatible charge controller.
