The Enphase Total Management System
The all-in-one solution that turns installers into energy experts.
There are 2 predominant solar systems currently sold on the market — “optimized-string” and “microinverter” systems. An Enphase microinverter system offers the utmost safety, reliability and longevity available due to the fact that the microinverter performs DC-to-AC conversion at the lowest, possible level; with no high-voltage DC conversion in a microinverter system, this eliminates the potential for hazardous DC arc faults and Phase-Induced-Degradation to the solar panels. An “optimized-string” system uses high-voltage DC and has a single point-of failure. In a “microinverter” system, there is no single point-of-failure, hence, the system has superior reliability.
The Enphase Total Management System
The leader of microinverter technology is Enphase Energy, and for the past 10 years, they have optimized their microinverter technology. With their latest 7th-generation IQ microinverters, the polymer shell enclosing allows installers to only have to run 2 wires through conduit, and the PLC communications is improved vastly from previous generations. The newer IQ7 products generate more energy than the previous IQ6 and M-series models. With Enphase’s IQ products, there is storage, networking and monitoring software called Enphase Enlighten, which offers insights for system owners and installers as to the health of the solar system at the per-panel level.
SOLAR INSTALLER ADVANTAGES
The benefits to installers are simple – peace of mind, as good quality hardware means less trouble in the long run. Time saved – typically fitting time is reduced with microinverters – the Enphase IQ7 microinverter offers quick plug-and-play installation using Q-cabling. Other gains are shown below…
- UK Based Installer Helpline – Monday to Friday 9-5 pm there’s a team to help you with technical inquiries and troubleshooting,
- Installer Toolkit App – download the app to increase installation efficiency and accelerate Envoy commissioning,
- Training – there’s a whole host of resources on the Enphase website here, and throughout the year are in-person training and on-demand webinars
THE ENPHASE IQ SYSTEM
Previous generations of Enphase microinverters set industry-wide reliability standards which the IQ7 has exceeded. Current efficiency for the inverter has reached 97.5%, and although a string inverter or optimizer may have exceeded that, the product of the two is inferior. Through extensive testing, Enphase has also been able to provide an industry-leading warranty of 20 years which optimized-string systems cannot beat.
The IQ7 microinverters are part of the Enphase Total Management System which includes the Enphase Envoy-S™ and the Enphase Enlighten™ monitoring and analysis software.
